Happy New Year!!

Pinspire - Anna G-----s's pin:How to freeze meals
Happy New Year to everyone! I pray everyone had a blessed Christmas and New Years spent with family and friends.
So what are my New Years Resolutions, you ask? Well this year I have decided to only set small goals throughout the year for myself. I think the world focuses so much on setting the big resolutions, know good and well that they probably won't be kept. Not saying this is a bad thing, but we all have busy lives and some things just have to get pushed to the side. So here are some of my goals that I would like to work towards.

-Grow closer in my walk with the Lord
-Keeping my blog more up to date to interest my readers (and hopefully gain more followers)
-Make sure I am staying profitable everyday in my down times
-Staying better prepared with doing things such as better meal planning and freezing meals a couple of weeks at a time
-Growing my home business more, while being a stay-at-home daughter, to save up for things in the future
-Keep learning more about aspiring to be a homemaker and homesteading

So, I would love to know what your plans are for 2014!!

Out With the Old and In With the New

I think I shall begin this post with Christmas and winter fun pics. I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas season.

Below is a Christmas tree skirt that I made for Momma. I took an old skirt we didn't want anymore and just recovered it with ruffles. I really liked the result. :D

Also, since I last posted, my sister Mallory, had a homeschool band concert. It was great. Here are some pics:

I won't bore you with all of our pics of opening presents. Instead, I'll share photos of us going out to shoot with my Uncle Bud who was in town from Michigan. Mind you, I had only shot a rifle before, so shooting this 9mm was a new ballgame for me. :)

Wow has 2012 gone by quickly!! I can't believe in under 8 hours, it will be 2013. This year has definitely had it's ups and downs and I'm sure the same will be said when we see the end of this coming year. This year has brought a few highlights such as: the Homeschool Civil War Ball, attending camp on my 21st birthday at Fort Rock Family Camp, and attending No Greater Joy's first Shindig in Big Sandy, TX.
My goal this year may seem simple but it's very important. I have a really hard time making myself sit down and read my Bible every day. This year, I am going to make sure I am constantly in the Word. I would love to hear everyones new year's resolutions.

At church yesterday, the pastor pointed out that we're going into the year 2013 and the number 13 is the number of confusion. Hmmmm... Not very comforting, but very true. Look at our government, we are getting ready to reach the fiscal cliff tomorrow. The world has lost the Lord so therefore, we have a very confused and lost society. There are so many new and scary laws being passed. We, as Christians, must stand up for what we believe in and let the world know that we are God's army and will not stop fighting until the world comes to an end.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years. God bless!!

A New Beginning

When I think about beginning a new year, many different thoughts go through my mind. First I begin feeling sad that 2011(or whatever year has just passed) seems so far away. The memories that were made might, however much we may dislike, begin to fade. They become our past instead of our present. However, then I begin thanking God for the wonderful moments we had in that far away year and begin to pray about the new things we will be allowed to enjoy in the coming year. There are always new and exciting things out there for us to learn and experience by God's grace!
This year, we were happy to welcome 2012 the way we do every year, at our annual New Year's Party. About 4 years ago (or there about), we had a large gathering of our Christian homeschool friends at our house on New Year's Eve. We played games and laughed our way into the new year. Ever since, it's become a wonderful tradition. It seems that every year, we have new friends that join us in the crazy time of playing games and laughter. We are so grateful that God has shown us these wonderful people. I couldn't ask for any better friends.

Happy New Year!!

P.S. Visit my sister on her new blog, The Faith Corner (thefaithcorner.blogspot.com). Reading has always been on the top of her list for things to do in her spare time. Just about anywhere she goes, her books go along. Her blog is about Christian Young Adult and Children's books that she's read. She welcomes comments and discussions about these books. I know she'd love to hear from you
